About the Classes

Practical and enjoyable, with advice for our daily lives, these classes are taught by Resident Teacher and Western Buddhist Monk, Gen Thekchen.  These classes offer simple, practical methods to improve the quality of our life and develop inner peace through meditation and Buddhist teachings. Classes consist of two guided meditations and a teaching to help us solve our daily problems and find the lasting happiness we seek.

No previous experience required – beginners welcome. Classes are presented in series, but each class is self contained.  Drop in any week.

Improving Relationships – Loving Kindness Training

This series will look at the three types of love, affectionate love, cherishing love and wishing love.  By training in these types of love we can make all our relationships meaningful and harmonious.  Love is the inner protector from negative minds such as anger, jealusy and uncontrolled desire.  Learn profound ways to connect with others and love even those who appear to be difficult and hard to love.   Everyone welcome.

The above series of classes will be based on the book, How to Transform Your Life (free ebook), by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. This practical manual for daily life shows how we can develop authentic inner peace, overcome daily problems and bring about positive changes in our life that enable us to experience deep and lasting happiness.



Gen Kelsang Thekchen is a Canadian Buddhist monk, and the Resident Teacher of KMC Vancouver. He has been ordained for 17 years. He is well known for his ability to present Buddha’s teachings in a simple, practical and often humorous way, making them easy to put into practice in everyday life.
