About the Class
Eight Steps to Happiness - The Buddhist Way of Loving Kindness
Join us for a free introduction to Foundation Programme - a weekly class on Monday nights that takes place through out the year. In this class, you will learn about the benefits of this special study program and about the book we are studying. Everybody welcome!
About the Foundation Programme (FP)
Join the Foundation Programme as we study the final chapter in the book, ‘The New Eight Steps to Happiness’. This text is an inspiring explanation of one of Buddhism’s best-loved poems ‘Eight Verses for Training the Mind’, which teaches us how we can transform all life’s difficulties into valuable spiritual insights.
This last chapter on ultimate Bodhichitta reveals the most profound of Buddha’s teachings, explaining how we can free ourself and others from the relentless problems of our everyday existence by realizing emptiness, the true nature of reality.
In these study classes, Resident Teacher of KMC Vancouver, Gen Thekchen, will give commentary to the chapter on ultimate Bodhichitta, providing a unique opportunity for students to gain insight into this profound topic.
If you wish to deepen your experience of Buddha’s teachings and learn how to transform your life into a dynamic spiritual path, you’ll enjoy the Foundation Programme (FP). Joining FP involves enrolling for the study of the section ultimate Bodhichitta in ‘The New Eight Steps to Happiness’. You undertake to attend all the classes and to take an exam at the end.
The Classes: Mondays 7 - 9. pm
Each class consists of prayers, a guided meditation, teaching and discussion.
