STAGES OF THE PATH TO HAPPINESS | Weekend Urban Lamrim Retreat

Fri-Sun, September 8-10, 2017

Friday, Intro talk: 7pm – 8:30pm
Saturday and Sunday: 9am – 5:15pm

Location: KMC Vancouver 1833 Victoria Diversion, Vancouver

Topic of the Retreat

Be guided through a series of special meditations that lead to increasingly peaceful and beneficial states of mind.  Compiled originally by the great Indian Buddhist Master Atisha, this special sequence of meditations, known as the stages of the path to enlightenment, or Lamrim in Tibetan, is a condensation of all Buddha’s teachings and the cornerstone of Modern Kadampa Buddhism.  These meditations are presented in such a way that they can be put into practice in our daily life easily, practically and incredibly effectively!

This retreat is a unique opportunity to learn and gain some experience of the these meditations as presented by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Led by our Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Sanden, this retreat will help us understand how to enter, make progress on and complete the entire spiritual path to enlightenment realistically while living a modern life.

About the Sessions

If you have not attended a Lamrim Retreat before, it is recommended that you try to attend the Friday night introduction.

The retreat starts with an introductory talk, The Preciousness of Kadam Lamrim, with Gen Sanden.  After that, Gen Sanden will lead the retreat sessions on Saturday and Sunday.  You are welcome to drop-in to any or all of the retreat sessions. There is no need to book in advance. There will be four retreat sessions per day consisting of chanted prayers, a short teaching and guided meditation.
