Our Thursday class offers step-by-step guidance on the meditation practices that will lead us to lasting inner peace and happiness.
Each class starts with a short guided breathing meditation, followed by a teaching on why your state of mind matters, and concludes with a meditation to set up your week.
The class is designed for drop-in but greater benefit and understanding naturally arise through attending our Thursday class regularly.
We are often quite passive about our state of mind. If we’re angry, rather than trying to change our anger, we try to change the externals; same with depression, anxiety and so forth. What we really need to do is control our mind, change it from bad states to good, from anger to patience and compassion, and so forth. There are many reasons to change our mind rather than focus on changing externals, but one thing is sure: we need to use every opportunity to improve our mind! (See below for schedule & topics.)
Through engaging in these meditations regularly, we will develop a heartfelt experience of their meaning that will protect us from suffering and help us maintain a happy mind all the time. They are famously known as the meditations on the stages of the path to enlightenment. They will lead anyone who practices them to become happier, wiser and clearer about life and ultimately to the supreme happiness of enlightenment.Everyone is welcome to attend.

This summer, join us to learn and be guided in four different meditations that help to calm the mind, reduce stress, and give rise to an experience of inner peace and wellbeing.
July 7: Inner Peace – a basic breathing meditation that helps to disengage the mind from the busyness of everyday life and create a special feeling of inner peace.
July 14: Pure Light – combines mindfulness of the breath with visualization, or creative imagination, and leads to a deep feeling of inner calm and purity.
July 21: Inspiration – a special breathing meditation that combines mindfulness of the breath with the recitation of a mantra.
August 18: Body of Light – A simple guided meditation that will help us to experience mental clarity and inner peace.
These classes are suitable for both beginners and more advanced meditation practitioners. Everyone is welcome!

No special clothing is required and both chairs and floor cushions are available.
