If you are interested in deepening your spiritual practice and insights in a committed structured manner the Foundation Program may be for you!
This fall, we embark on the chapter on Ultimate Bodhichitta in the book New Eight Steps to Happiness by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and complete the study of this amazing book. For those who are interested in ultimate truth, emptiness, this is a wonderful opportunity to take a deep dive into Buddha’s most profound teachings. If you would like to attend a trial class please email our Education Program Coordinator @ epc@meditateinvancouver.org
Foundation Program is not a drop in course but a committed study program in which we attend all the classes if possible and involves listening to teachings, engaging in paired discussion with others registered in the class, studying in advance the material to be covered each week, memorizing the essential points of the teachings being given, engaging in the suggested meditations and daily practices suggested in class and taking an exam at the end. Studying happily in a committed way like this produces fantastic results. To see the more information about the commitments and structure, look at the menu item for the Monday Foundation Program.
If this level of commitment is not for you, you can still study these teachings in our drop in classes on ultimate truth this term. Foundation Program provides the best vehicle to gain deep understanding and practical experience of these teachings, but any degree of exposure is deeply helpful in improving our life, our control of our mind and wisdom making our life more meaningful.
